| Summary/Description | The photo depicts the U.S. Post Office in early 1905. The Post Office is located on Railroad Avenue within McWilliams' Las Vegas Townsite. Three unidentified men and a horse, "Ben" which belonged to postmaster Walter Bracken, are visible outside of the Post Office. Other buildings from McWilliams' Las Vegas Townsite are visible in the background. The view is looking northwest. ; The Post Office was located on Lot 10, Block 2 within McWilliams' Las Vegas Townsite. The Post Office later moved to Clark's Las Vegas Townsite. The postmaster was Walter Bracken who owned Lot 9 to the south of the Post Office. The parcel that the Post Office occupied was owned by Helen Stewart. |
