Albert "Al" Schulman

Albert “Al” Schulman (1911-1997) was the popular butcher and proprietor of Schulman Meats located on Valley View Boulevard.  Al was born in Minsk, Russia. He became a butcher at the age of 15. In 1940, Al moved to Las Vegas in Las Vegas, where he lived for 57 years until his passing in 1997. 
 
Al opened Schulman Meats as a butcher shop and commercial meat plant in 1957. By the 1970s, he had expanded his business making it the largest meat processing plant in Nevada.
It is reported that by 1978 he employed ten professional butchers. 
 
Then in 1986, Al sold the business, only to see the new owner go into bankruptcy two years later. Wanting preserve his legacy, he revived the business.
