Benjamin "Ben" Lesser

Ben Lesser is a Holocaust survivor and author of the book Living a Life That Matters: From Nazi Nightmare to American Dream. Lesser was born in Krakow, Poland in 1928. His father owned a successful chocolate factory as well as a wine and fruit syrup factory.  When the Nazis invaded Poland, Ben's family decided to leave and settled in Hungary in 1943. In 1944 when the Nazis invaded Hungary Lesser was sent to Auschwitz and Birkenau. Lesser ended up in Buchenwald and later Dachau where he was liberated by the Americans in April 1945. Lesser moved to the United States in 1947 and settled in Los Angeles where he met and married his wife, Jean, in 1950.  Lesser became a real estate agent and formed the real estate office Ben Lesser and Associates. Lesser is the founder of the Zachor Holocaust Remembrance Foundation.
