Sharon Sigesmund Pierce was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1938. Thirty-five years later, as a recent divorcee, she followed her parents to Las Vegas with her son, Ross, and daughter, Marci. It was here that she met her second husband, Raymond Sigesmund, at a Temple Beth Sholom singles event and the two were married soon after. Sharon became very involved in the local Jewish community, both generously giving her time as well as money. She has served as president of Temple Beth Sholom’s Sisterhood, president of B’nai B’rith chapter, and board chair and emeritus director of Jewish Federation of Las Vegas. In 2007, Sharon married Stephen Pierce.
