CONDON, DIRECTOR WALKER LAKE COMBINATION MINES COMPANY GENERAL OFFICES GOLDFIELD, NEVADA P.O. BOX 334 Sunday June 7/08 Dear Mother:- Your No 2 of the 3rd just rec'd this evening. I have been laying around home here all day and did not even put on a shirt. I went through my trunk and cleaned it out quite a bit. Guess when that trunk travels again it won't be necessary to put in newspapers to pack it. I have got the biggest lot of junk piled up. Say I wrote both the Grandpas yesterday. Expect Grandpa R. will think I am trying to touch him for money from the way he talked to you. I told him I was out of work but never thought of him making such a proposition. Now I appreciate his offer but I don't want to do that. I would like to come home and see him more than he can imagine. There is nothing in sight for me yet but I am willing to stay here with the hope of getting a job of some kind. They are giving a round trip rate from Goldfield to Chicago of 90.00. Was sorry to hear that Jep lost out. Would not blame him much to help elect Hinkle. Hope you will get Mary for you are doing too much work I know. Expect Belle Stewart's
