M.J. MONNETTE, PRESIDENT THOS. H. CONDON, VICE-PREST. LINCOLN DAVIS, TREASURER A.A. BARRETT, SECY. R.J. SHOEMAKER, DIRECTOR J.R. HUBBARD, GEN'L. MGR. Baby Florence Mining Company P.O. Box 334 112 Hall St. Goldfield, Nevada Oct 1/08 Dear Mother:- Told you in my last note that I would write you yesterday but I was too busy. Got your No6 of 27th this afternoon. Tell you it made me almost sick to think our place had such a close call by fire. You were surely lucky. Sorry to hear that Dady had a sick spell but glad to know he is better. I hardly think John Forrest would come to see Pem. Think Pem wanted the trip more than anything else. Doc is cutting it pretty thick. [crossed out: Tell him to ask her if she] Guess I had better not say it. Well anyway it looks to me like Doc had an eye for business. I am glad he is digging into school. Say I tell you Bryan don't look good to me. He looks better than Taft but I think Old Debbs has them both beat. Now you don't need to think I am crazy for I have studied Bryan's side of it pretty thoroughly. Why don't he still advocate the same doctrines he did last campaign?
