Goldfield Belmont Extension Mining Company.The property of this company consists of the Midnight Fractin and Pawnee lode claims, patented, containing 39.5 acres, situated in sections20 and 21,T.2 S.R.43 E.,M.D.M., in the Goldfield Mining District.In this vicinity ore has been found on the Great Bend,Daisy,Jumbo Extension,Vernal,Belmont and Black Butte properties.The Midnight Fraction lode lies ad the easterly end of the Great Bend-Daisy-Black Butte ridge, which forms the main portion of the mineralizedzone of this part of the district.In the Goldfield District the zone of most intense mineralization andalteration is a belt of varying width of somewhat horseshoe shape withits open end to the east. This belt contains the Consolidated and other mines in its southerly potion and extends thence northerly aroundthrough the Sandstorm properties, thence northerly and easterly along theridge mentioned above. It is within this belt of ledges and aluniticalteration that practically all the ore of the district has been found.This belt is probably the result of upheaval in the central portion ofledges have a direction converging at the Midnight Fraction shaft.The formation of this part of the district is all Milltown Andesite,Except in the two places where rhyolite and dacite are shownthe district which caused rupture and splitting along the belt and leftopenings through which the later circulating waters could travel andproduce chemical action and deposit their minerals. The accompanyingdiagram shows the relative position of this zone.The plat herewith shows the properties of the company and also shows the ledges which appear at the surface and the geological forma-tions which were taken principally from the U.S. Geological SurveyReport of the Goldfield District.
