Goldfield Belmont Report p08

Full Text

SUGGESTIONS AND CONCLUSIONSThe gross production of the Goldfield District to date covering a period of ten years from its discovery is approx-imately EIGHTY MILLION DOLLARS ($80,000,000.00).THE GREATER PART OF THIS PRODUCTION WAS TAKEN FROM AND INITIATED IN THE SILICIFIED DACITE FORMATION FOUND IMMEDIATE-SOUTHEAST OF COLUMBIA MOUNTAIN IS WHICH ARE LOCATED THE COMBINATION, MOHAWK,JUMBOS,AND RED TOP CLAIMS OF THI GOLDFIELD CONSOLIDATE MINES COMPANY AND JUMBO EXTENSION MINING CO.THE PROPERTY OF THE GOLDFIELD BELMONT EXTENSION MINING COMPANY IS LOCATED AND COVERS A LARGE PART OF THE ONLY OTHER AREA OF LIKE FORMATION WITHIN THE ZONE OUTLINED AND IT SHOWS MANY PHYSICAL CONDITIONS IN COMMON WITH THESE HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE PROPERTIES WHICH ARE APPARENT ALIKE TO THE ORDINARY OBSERVER AS WELL AS THE STUDENT AND ENGINEER.In view of the favorable location both with reference to the geology and rich ores mined in the adjoining property, the Diamondfield Black Butte Reorganized Mining Company, recent developements in which have revealed a two foot vein of good ore on the contact between the dacite and the andesite on their 100 ft. level, leads us to believe that further explorations from the main shaft will result in the discovery of important bodies of ore which willplace the property in the rank of other producing properties of the district. It is suggested and recommended therefor that every effort be made to reach the contact from the 200 ft. level of the present shaft by cross-cutting an approximate distance of 300 feet southwesterly from the shaft ad driving the west drift
