Any Goldfield Business HouseGOLDFIELD MINING STOCK EXCHANGE MEMBERS WALL STREET MINING & STOCK EXCHANGE REPRESENTED ON EVERY MINING EXCHANGEMines and Market from Mine Operators' Viewpoint, Oct. 1, 1906Although no fireworks developed in the market during the past week a comparison of the volume of trading of the week before shows that the number of shares traded in was within 42,000 of as heavy as that of the week previous, which has been the banner week of the fall or summer. The market is apparently steadying itself for another and greater advance, or as a matter of fact the winter activity is just commencing and we look for the majority of securities, principally Goldfield and Greenwater, to show some heavy advances, although we rather expect to see them move gradually and every point held retained.Mohawk broke sharply during the past week, a total of 125 points, following a report of the commencement of a lawsuit between this company and the Combination, involving the apex rights on the ground being developed on the Ish-Sheets lease on the Combination, and the Kalfus lease on the Mohawk. Suit was brought by the Mohawk company for $100,000 damages for ore said to have been mined from Mohawk ground by the Combination. This litigation will by no means affect any other leases except the Kalfus and Ish-Sheets, and we are strongly of the opinion, from what information we are able to obtain, legal or otherwise, that the Mohawk will win out with flying colors, and we are satisfied ourselves that they are strictly in the right.Another influence that had a bearish effect on the market was a bear interview given out to the eastern press by one of the directors of the Mohawk company, in which statements were made that are well known to every operator and broker in Goldfield to be entirely false. These statements referred to the amount of cash in the treasury of the Mohawkcompany and the production of the mine to date, including royalties from leasers. This interview was undoubtedly given out for the purpose of breaking the market, or rather assisting the break which the directors of the company knew would follow the announcement of the commencement of litigation, and was beyond a doubt, for the purpose of buying.Goldfield securities continue to be far in the lead in point of activity here and on the San Francisco and eastern exchanges.Triangle was again decidedly active, 796,750 shares changing hands during the week, and it is reported that control of this company has passed into the hands of a successful firm of leasers operating on the Daisy, and who are undoubtedly associated with the owners of the control of the Daisy company.Although the Greenwater Red Boy is the only Greenwater Copper stock listed on this exchange, the amount of trading and the demand for Greenwater stocks, both here and in the other leading markets of the country, is something enormous and we look for Greenwater to furnish the greatest boom that has been known for years in the west; in fact, the activity in that section at the present time has never been duplicated, considering the length of time that has elapsed since the discovery of the camp. Fully a dozen heavy hoisting plants have been ordered and are now in transit, and within thirty to sixty days probably twice as many will be in operation on exceedingly valuable properties showing mammoth dykes and veins of high grade copper and gold ore.Among the two most active in the district, are the Greenwater Red Boy and Greenwater Saratoga,No investor in mining stocks through us has ever lost a dollar
