Returning to Goodsprings, I did an assessment upon the Columbia claim and about May 10, went to work in the Keystone mine. Stayed there until September, when i went to a Lincoln County Democratic Convention, where I was nominated for the legislature. Was busy with my campaign the greater part of Septemper and October. Was in Searchlight on election day. The vote was very close, but I was elected by a small margin.
