-3-was to be comadeered by the state and ultimately paid for after the legislature had made an appropriation therefor. For your information, Mr. McNamee tells me that last week when he was in Carson City he saw the Governor, who said he was very troubled over the purchase of the Lincoln car; that he was afraid he would come in for very severe censure for having purchased so expensive a car, as the state's policy was to purchase Dodges and other low-priced machines; that he while was willing to stand by his agreement, it would relieve him of a great deal of embarassmentif instead of the statepaying for the car, our comapny would retain the ownership, merely charging rental for the time the car was in use.Mr. McNamee and I expected to go over this situation with you upon your return, and some reply will have to be given to the Governor.A.S.
