J. Ross Clark to J.K.W. Bracken, October 31, 1903
Full Text
Oct. 31, 1903. Dr. J.K.W. Bracken, Los Vegas, Nevada. Dear Sir: I have your favor of the 26th instant and note that you are sending me a sample box of apples. I note that you have about twelve tons of these already picked and expect to have about that many more. The apples arrived a day or two ago, and I find them to be very nice, indeed. I hardly think it would be policy to ship these apples to Los Angeles for the market, as the freight rates are tremendously high from Ivanpah to Los Angeles. I think you ought to be able to find a market for them among the contractors, ranchers and engineer parties near the ranch. I also note that you have sent three boxes of these to Salt Lake to Mr. Wells, Mr. Whittemore, etc.I received the sample of the fall apples sent to me by mail, and I was under the impression I acknowledged receipt of them. I found them to be a very choice article. Very truly yours, (Signed) J. ROSS CLARK
