Los Vegas Dec. 11th 1902Mr J. Ross ClarkLos Angeles CalifDear SirI have made out a lits of what I consider is required here at this time. The water that now comes to the kitchen is taken from the creek 660 ft above the house and the pipe is so badly corroded that very little water comes through it and new pipe should be put in but while doing so I would advise going further up and taking the water from a spring 1200 ft above the house which is a much better water and cooler. The water in the creek becomes contaminated when spred out over the field above.I think it necessary to have the horses or as people here think mules would be better. As there are few horses that could be worked here and those are old and broken down. In time some fair horses can be caught up and broke to harness but it is important to have something to work with at once. The lumber can be gotten at Manvel and then may be no hurry for that
