Charles R. Iverson letter to R. T. Walker, April 25, 1918
1310 W. 45th St. Los Angeles Cal. April 25th 1918. R.T. Walker. Nelson Nev. Dear Sir: Mr. Hedges has sent for me and handed me your letter, in which you state that you will have a vacancy for an assayer in a few days. I feel confident that I can do the work you mention, as I have been in the habit of turning out more assays than the number you mention. I am familiar with complete ore analysis and understand the assaying of cyanide solutions for gold and silver. Mr. Hedges informs me that you want a stick[l]er and has questioned me carefully as to my ability to hold down the job. He says he will write you stating that he believes me capable of doing the work outlined in your letter. I am exempt from military service up to the present, having been rejected in the army on account of my weight, and, in the navy as being under weight and heighth. I can leave at any time upon receipt of a telegram from you, if you care to consider my application. Respectfully, Chas. R. Iverson
