March 22, 1918. Mr. A. E. Flint, 214 S. Kenwood St.,Glenwood, Calif. Dear sir: Replying to your letter of the 19th inst., we wish to say that the position of assayer here will be vacant on April 10. The salary paid is $125 per month, plus $10 per month for making two screen tests on mill sails daily. The duties consist of preparing for assay and of assaying an average of about 15 mine samples and 5 mill samples daily, seven days per week. No other determinations than gold and silver are made. This is a desert camp; dry and healthful; pleasant in winter; hot in summer; altitude, 2500 ft. ; clean, but lacking city conveniences and facilities. Position will be permanent, if work is satisfactory. If you wish us to consider you for this position, please advise us promptly and fully regarding the following. Please state fully your previous experience in assaying, naming past employers, and the length of time in the service of each. Please state your age, nationality, height, weight, married or single, and education. Board here is $1.20 per day; room 50 c. per week (bring bedding); hospital fee, $1.50 per month. Small houses available for families, rent $5.00 per month. Upon receipt of your reply to this letter, we will advise you promptly whether we will be able to consider you.
