MACMASTER & MACMASTER MINING STOCK BROKERS P.O. BOX 1063 GOLDFIELD, NEV. Nov 26 -06 Dear Mother:- Rec'd your two letters this morning. Suppose you have heard all about the Goldfield fire by this time. You surely saw it in the Muncie Star on the 18th. Look this star up and send it to me. All the other papers had a small acccount of the fire but they did not let half of the news get out. They do not let any of the disagreeable news get out. Only the good news. None of the papers came anyways near telling the truth about it. They will never know how many lives were lost in the fire. There was considerable more than the Hotel burning. Several Residences and Tent houses were burned. The papers only told of the Hotel burning. It would hurt the camp too much to let the real facts get out. You have probably learned enough about it by this time. I am looking for Hurry and Jefferson tomorrow (Tuesday) night. I have a young newspaper man in with me until the boys get in. Now about going down in a shaft. I want to learn all about the mines and you know mines
