Activity Description

Make a flipbook of mining vocabulary words. Draw a picture of the early 20th century item on one side and a picture of its contemporary equivalent on the other. Next, invite a miner to visit the class and discuss uses of these vocabulary words on the job site.

      1. H3.4.4: Explain how advances in technologies have impacted Nevada, i.e., railroads, mining, and gaming.

      1. E.8.C.5: Students know how geologic processes account for state and regional topography.
      2. E.8.C.6: Students know minerals have different properties and different distributions according to how they form.
