Elliot B. Karp was the president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, Nevada from 2008 to 2015. Born October 10, 1955 in Mineola, New York, Karp grew up in Long Island, New York. He received a bachelor's degree in political science from Stonybrook University and a master's degree from the Benjamin S. Hornstein Program in Jewish Communal Service at Brandeis University. Karp was Director of Financial Resource Development for over 15 years at the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, Ohio and Director of Leadership and Human Resource Development for six years at the Jewish Federation of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also worked in fundraising at the Jewish Federation of Columbus, Ohio and as a consultant for nonprofit organizations such as the National United Jewish Appeal, Brandeis University, and the Jewish Agency for Israel. In 2008, Karp was hired as the president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas. While serving as president and CEO, he also founded the Nonprofit CEO Council of Southern Nevada and serves on the Multi-Cultural Advisory Board to the Sherriff of Clark County.
