Freddie Glusman

Freddie Glusman is the founder and owner of the iconic Las Vegas, Nevada gourmet restaurant Piero's Italian Cuisine. Glusman grew up near Vancouver, Canada and moved to Los Angeles, California with his family when he was thirteen. He moved to Las Vegas in 1957 and had a variety of jobs. He sold carpeting and drapes to the Dunes, and owned retail stores at the Tropicana, International, Flamingo, and Stardust during the 1960s and 1970s. In 1974 he became business partners with Allen Glick and later took over his athletic club, The Sporting House. Glusman opened Piero's in 1982 on Karen Avenue near the Las Vegas Country Club and quickly found success. In 1988 it moved to "former mob hangout" Villa d'Este on Convention Center Drive. Piero's is known as an old-time Vegas establishment, and is frequented by casino bosses, celebrities, and politicians. In 1995 its iconic status and popularity was cemented after being featured in the film Casino.
