Marcy Welt

Marcy Welt is an active member of the Las Vegas, Nevada Jewish community. Born Marcy Horowitz in 1947 in New York, she married Gerald "Jerry" Welt in 1966 in Anaheim, California. The couple moved to Las Vegas in 1972 where they worked in the pawnshop business and became involved in the local community. The Welts helped bring the United Synagogue Youth program to Las Vegas and recruited teachers from out-of-state for valley schools. Marcy Welt also worked with Edythe Katz-Yarchever to create a film for teachers about Holocaust education and for several years she was a youth advisor at Temple Beth Sholom.
