United Jewish Appeal Victory Dinner Invitation, May 25, 1954 (front)

Description

The front side of an invitation to a Las Vegas United Jewish Appeal victory dinner. The printed message reads: "May 25, 1954; Dear Friend: You and your family are cordially invited to attend the Victory Dinner of the 1954 campaign of the Las Vegas Jewish Appeal on Sunday evening, June 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Silver Slipper Ballroom. The individual solicitations, which started only a few days ago, have brought a generous response from the people who have been contacted so far. Since our community has grown by leaps and bounds over the last year or so, it may not be possible for each person to be contracted within the short period of time which is at our disposal. We, therefore, hope that - whether you have made your contribution or not - you will attend the Victory Dinner on June 6 so that we may be able to conclude our drive that very evening. This brochure tells you something about the work which we - through our support of the United Jewish Appeal - have accomplished and about the tasks which still have to be done. Also enclosed you will find the story of an exciting TV program, which you will see on the evening of June 6th. It will be an event that we know you will enjoy. Won't you be so good enough to fill out the enclosed card so that we can make a reservation for you and your family? Hundreds of thousands of our people depend on us, and we are certain that you will join with us in our effort to give them a better future. Sincerely yours, Jake Freedman (Campaign Chairman) and Harry Levy (Campaign Co-Chairman)." United Jewish Appeal officers are listed on the left side of the page.
